The stakes are high. The casualties are real. The war is raging all around us everyday. The spiritual climate of our nation is in rapid decay. We wake up each new day to a longer list of victims of this brutal war we are enlisted in.
The enemy is out for more than just blood; complete annihilation is his end game. And the only thing stopping him is the spirit of God working through the people of God.
But instead of strapping on our armor and picking up our weapons, most of us are taking a nap. Thinking God will just take care of it all, we opted for a more passive approach and ended up in a state of spiritual slumber. No prayers of intercession, no spiritual warfare happening; just good old fashioned snoring whilst our world goes up in flames.
It reminds of the story of the folks that made it off of the Titanic. It’s rumored that many more people could have fit on the life boats, 1178 to be exact. , but only about half that many actually did find rescue on them. But the saved didn’t really care about the unsaved folks that were flailing in the freezing water, leaving them to drown a horrendous death. They didn’t want to be inconvenienced by having to go back for them. They were saved and that’s all that mattered. Sorry about your bad luck folks. They were taking naps on their way out.
Is that us? Unsaved folks are suffering everyday because they don’t know Jesus. They are casualties of war, trapped in sinful lifestyles, victims of sexual abuse, chained to addictions. Who is going to intercede on their behalf? Who is going to step onto the battlefield and fight for their freedom? They don’t know how to do it! They aren’t equipped to and they don’t even know they are in a spiritual battle. That’s our job!
Who is going to cry out and intercede for our nation? The enemy is increasingly gaining new ground and footholds in our government and what are we doing about it? The only weapon we have (and the only one we need) is intercession. We must war in the spirit and stop complaining on social media to fix or dethrone the wickedness that has exalted itself. Being angry and doing nothing CONSTRUCTIVE about it is ludicrous. We are not warring with people, we are fighting against the anti-christ spirit that has invaded our land.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12
For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
We are dinvinely empowered to destroy spiritual strongholds. But we can’t do that if we are asleep. It’s time to wake up from our spiritual slumber and cast off the lethargy of our generation.
We are called to be intercessors. It’s time to take up our sword and go into battle.
Who’s in?
There is a movement arising all over the world in churches and homes. The whole body of Christ is locking arms and fighting for our nation and world. Won’t you join us??
