Women were created to be the protectors of life. We carry within us the genetic code to not only sustain life for nine months, but to also protect that life at all costs. We are fierce guardians that will do whatever it takes to keep our children safe.
A few weeks ago I was attending worship rehearsal at my church when one of our members needed to be taken to the ER. We spent the better part of the night praying and interceding for her healing. At first I tried to pray politely, saying all the right things with my stoic emotions in tact. But one of our worship team members felt led to remind me that I was a mother and that I needed to go to bat for our friend. I needed to go after her with my prayers like a mother bear goes after her lost cub. For whatever reason God wanted to use my warrior heart to intercede for her along with the other team members. When I finally decided to allow myself to truly intercede for her, it got loud, ugly and powerful. My she -bear came out and you could feel the atmosphere in the room change for all of us. We ALL went after her hard, as if she were our own child.
That’s what women are called to do! We are called to protect and guard life! We hold a power that even grown men stand in astonishment of. I kept waiting for the men in our group to pray and intercede for our friend (and they did) but God wanted the fierce heart of a mother to do his bidding. He wanted an angry bear to charge out against his enemies and destroy them!
We are living in a time where women have lost their identity. Instead of protecting life, we are destroying it because it is an inconvenience! Oh heaven help us. We have lost our way and our souls. If we as women don’t protect our own children, who will?
I am praying for the revival of the true spirit of womanhood to arise! The spirit of Eve- the mother of all who live!
It is so easy to walk in anger and offense against the women (and men) that are passing abortion legislation or are actively committing abortions every day. I myself have felt outraged over the tragedy and loss that is occurring every day in our country. And I am convinced it’s because women do not truly know who they are. They don’t realize God created them to protect His most precious gift- human life.
As Christians we must daily intercede for this genecide. We must war in the heavenlies for these innocent babies. We must refuse to be quiet, but go after the hearts of these broken women to remind them of their true identity before they toss their babies in the trash.
How many can we save?
I for one cannot sit idly by while millions of babies are murdered. We must do what we can. Our job is prayer, intercession, evangelism and discipleship, just to name a few.
If we don’t do it, who will? If not now, when? We cannot afford to wait any longer to do our part!
